Oban Stories

Travelling home for Xmas was never going to be fun. It's a three hour bus journey, a five hour wait, a 1 hour boat and then a half an hour car journey. So both Shaun and I were not ecstatic about waking up at 6.30 to take this trip. However, when we arrived in Oban we actually had a surprisingly good time. I was wearing an old cashmere cardigan that I think belonged to my mum (possibly still does, apologies mum), some plum coloured jeans form H&M (where else?) and my old booties from Topshop that are completely destroyed but still comfortable! The weather was, of course, disgusting but I think it was the thought of being half way to our destination that kept us happy. Oh and the thought of Christmas! Now it's Xmas eve and the thought of dinner tomorrow is making me full already! Hope you're all having a great Christmas Eve so far!

Flashback: Paris

  

When everyone else was heading off to places like Magaluf or Ibiza, me and three of my friends decided that Paris was the place to be. I will never forget my first trip abroad without my family, it was just the best couple of days! So many stories and good times were formed on that holiday. We were lucky enough to be staying in the lovliest apartment and the weather was incredible. We ate great food (a lot of Boursin), drank a lot of wine (Very Pamp) and met some amazing characters (a scouser and a man who insisted I stroked his beard, to name a few). It's almost two years since we went on that escapade but I felt it appropriate to share with you some photos from the trip. Enjoy. 

Shop Windows

 I went into the centre of Glasgow today to attempt to take some street style shots. However, after been told to go away like 5 times I decided that I probably should give up my battle and began looking at the shop windows. This year the visual merchandisers of shops like Urban Outfitters (above), Fred Perry (below) and Topshop (further below) have totally pulled it out of the bag. Urban outfitters was by far my favourite! I liked the use of comedy to attract people to the shop (reverse psycology does work people!) but they totally backed it up by having these amazing hanging paper sculptures. To be honest I've always loved the shop windows and interior design in Urban Outfitters, so I wasn't surprised by this excellent display. In Glasgow we only have a tiny little Fred Perry shop but their huge advent calendar style window display was definitely attract attention (It wasn't only me taking pictures of it). Topshop didn't go with a full blown Xmas window but they definitely went for the party season look and in one window had lots and lots of sparkles. But, it was the other window that I like the best. Three large photographs of models were placed behind mannequins. In both the photo and the mannequin there was the same item of clothing, just styled in a different way. veryu smart. Christams shopping is one of the most stressful times of year so it's nice just to take a second and look at what the visual merchandisers of each shop have come up with.
