WELCOMING SUMMER

It's safe to say that the weather here in Scotland is ridiculously unpredictable. Just yesterday Shaun and I were laying out in Kelvingrove park, enjoying the sun and wishing we were on Mull. Today it's been on and off rain all day. Need to make sure we take advantage of the good weather when it makes an appearance.
It's taken us like eight months to go for a walk through the park (which is literally on our doorstep) but we'll certainly be doing it lots over summer. Next time we'll take a few ciders and have a BBQ!

IN GALASHIELS

It's been a long time since I visited the Scottish Borders, which is where I spent the first fourteen years of my life. My dad still lives in Galashiels and so I thought it about time I made the three hour trip. On the bus journey down it was really surreal going through the village, Stow, where I used to live. I have fond memories of my Primary school years and I feel really lucky to have been able to roam about freely in the countryside. It definitely made me a much more creative person. I didn't like high school at all though, when I still lived in Galashiels, and i was very happy to move away.  I think that's the reason I've arranged to spend time with my dad in Glasgow rather than go there.

So, although the weather was a bit on and off I had a nice time in Gala. But what was really great was eating nice food! First night we had an Indian takeaway (lamb and ginger balti with peshwari naan, so good!) and the second night we had an incredible steak dinner. I don't get to eat this sort of "expensive" food very often so I enjoyed it very very much. It's a shame i spent a large amount of my time indoors but it was nice just to hang out with my dad.

HELLO AGAIN + ANTIQUES FAIR

It's been almost two months since I lasted posted anything on this (bad, unorganized me). I've had so many deadlines and pressures from college I just made the decision to take a break from the blog to focus on getting into my degree, which i did! Also, Shaun got himself a job (yaay) and so I lost my photographer. I've recently been thinking about the blog a bit and I've missed doing posts. So, although I'm still snowed under with work I'm going to try and just keep a stream of photographs and little thoughts on the blog. It's just too difficult to organize things as well as I did before so expect to see posts about my life rather than just the clothes i'm wearing.

Now Shaun is working I've been spending a lot of time on my lonesome and it's been an effort to do anything
outside of the flat. However, I've been meaning to go to the antiques fair at Kelvinhall for ages and today I finally made it. I didn't find anything I wanted to take home with me but it was full of lovely jewellery, books, old photographs and other knick knacks. Next time I'll drag Shaun along and we'll see if we can find anything for the flat, specifically a mirror.
